YOGYAKARTA CONTEMPORARY MUSIC FESTIVAL 2009

CALL FOR SCORE

The 5^th Yogyakarta Contemporary Music Festival is an international contemporary music festival in Indonesia and host regularly every years since 2004. This festival will be valuable opportunity for composers, performers, musicologist, and scholars from Asian and from different part of the world that has relation with Asian, to meet, exchange idea and inspire each other.

YCMF 2009 is seeking for score and work with the following consideration:

• Duration max. 10 minutes.
• Formation must be in SOLO, DUO or TRIO.
• The following instruments can be used as solo or combination:
  • Violin, viola, violoncello, double bass.
  • Piccolo, flute, alto flute, oboe, clarinet in Bb, bass clarinet, bassoon.
  • Horn in F, trumpet in Bb, trombone, saxophone alto or tenor.
  • Marimba, xylophone, vibraphone.
  • Piano, guitar.
  • Soprano.
  • Gender, rebab, siter, saron, vocal, kendang, suling.

Electro-Acoustic Music

Duration max. 10 minutes.

The work must be for sound only or for sound and video.
In both case it should be pieces without live performance.
The video work may be on DVD format playable on a PC.

The score or CD should be sent by post to:

The submitted works should be sent along with the parts, shortbio, photo, and program note.

The selected works would be performed, recorded, and uploaded into YouTube.

Deadline: August 5, 2009.
